Swimming Recount
Splish
splash went the water as room 6 got in. Panmure Bridge was excited for
their first swimming lesson for term 1. There was a man named Mr.
Burton who took group 1 for their first swimming lesson. There was
another man as well, his name was Mr. Nepia, he took group 2 for some
games the first game was baseball we got split up into groups one group
was batting and the others were fielding.
Ms.
Kirkpatrick came and called the other group. My friends and I got
changed into our togs. At first I thought the water was going to be deep
but it was just right for my friends and I. The first stroke we learnt
was freestyle and to kick your feet underneath the water. When we first
did freestyle there were about three boys who got comments on how well
they swam.
The
rest of us had to do freestyle again because we were not doing the
strokes properly so we kept on doing it until we got it right. In the
end we got it and we got to have free time. We did handstand
competitions and see who could hold their breath underneath the water
for the longest.
It
was time to get out and get changed we quickly got changed so we could
go back to class it was so cool learning how to freestyle.
